Kawagisu - Kawagisu

...A freshwater fish of the Cyprinidae family (illustration). Local names include Sunamoguri (Iwate Prefecture and others), Kawagisu (Saitama Prefecture), Sougen, Sougenbou (Tone River system in Gunma Prefecture and others), and Dangiribo (Lake Biwa). Distributed throughout most of Japan except Hokkaido and Aomori Prefecture, and in parts of the northeastern part of the Asian continent, including the Korean Peninsula.
