…From 1103 to 1536, the Danish archbishopric was located in Lund, and the area prospered due to herring fishing. From the 15th to the 17th century, it became a battleground between Denmark and Sweden, and in 1658, as a result of the First Carl Gustav War, Denmark was defeated and Scania, along with Harland, Blekinge, and Bornholm (which later returned to Denmark), was handed over to Sweden (the Treaty of Roskilde). Denmark tried to recover its lost territories in the Scanian Wars but failed, and by the beginning of the 18th century, Swedishization was almost complete, and economic development was achieved with the construction of the port of Malmö in 1775 and the construction of a railway in the 19th century. …
