…Influenced by Cage, he released the first music of uncertainty in Europe with Piano Piece XI (1956), and thereafter, together with Boulez, he became a leading figure in the avant-garde music of the 1950s and 1960s. He introduced new theories of avant-garde music one after another, such as spatial music (Gruppen, 1957), which focuses on the directionality of sound, instantaneous form (Momente, 1964), which emphasizes the sound of the moment, and intuitive music (Seven Days, 1968), in which the performer improvises from a text, and continues to have a great influence on music today.
