...they include the Zahiriyya Mahasabha (1279, remodeled in the 19th century) with its beautiful façade (now the National Library), one of the oldest hospitals, Maristan at Nur al-Din (construction started in 1154), the citadel (early 13th century), the Ottoman Khanate of As'ad Pasha (c. 1752), and the Palace of Azm (1749, a fine example of late Ottoman Turkish palace architecture in Syria).
