Color negative film

Japanese: カラーネガフィルム（英語表記）colour negative film

A color film for photography in which the light and dark of the subject is reversed and the colors are complementary. When printed onto color paper or color print film, a color photograph (color print, color slide) with the correct light and dark and color reproduction is obtained. It is widely used as a general color photographic film, and together with color reversal film for printing manuscripts, it constitutes a color film.

被写体とは明暗が逆，色再現が補色の関係に記録される写真撮影用カラーフィルム。カラーペーパーやカラープリントフィルムに焼付けて，正常な明暗と再現色のカラー写真 (カラー印画，カラースライド) を得る。一般のカラー写真用フィルムとして広く用いられ，印刷原稿用のカラーリバーサルフィルムとともにカラーフィルムをなしている。
