...The temperature of a radiating body such as a star, determined using Planck's law of radiation based on the total amount of radiant energy over all wavelengths, or the distribution of radiant energy at each wavelength. Examples include effective temperature, brightness temperature, and color temperature. In astronomy, in addition to effective temperature, color temperature determined from the distribution of a star's light in the visible range, and brightness temperature, which expresses the strength of a radio wave source as a temperature, are also used.
