...However, Asahi, Kosobe, and Akahada are kilns from after the Enshu period. On the other hand, Matsudaira Fumai's "Seto Pottery Origins" lists seven kilns in Takatori, Satsuma, Higo, Tamba, Zeze, Karatsu, and Bizen as provincial wares from the Enshu period, and these kilns were active during the Enshu period. Of these two documents, Takatori ware and Zeze ware, which are common to both, are certainly closely connected to Enshu, but overall the basis for the selection of the seven kilns is very vague and unreliable.
