Donation manors - Kishinchikeishoen

Japanese: 寄進地系荘園 - きしんちけいしょうえん

After the 10th century, manors were established by the donation of land by local feudal lords. They are also called donated manors. They are the opposite of self-cultivated manors. Local development lords acquired the privilege of not entering or leaving their land, and in order to prevent interference from the kokushi, donated their land to powerful families in the central government, while retaining effective control of the land themselves under the pretext of holding a manorial position such as a yokosho. Donated manors rapidly increased from around the 10th century.

10世紀以後，地方豪族の土地寄進によって成立した荘園
寄進型荘園ともいう。自墾地系荘園に対するもの。地方の開発領主たちは，その所有地に不輸・不入の特権を獲得し，国司の干渉を防ぐため，中央の権門勢家にその所領を寄進し，自分は預所職など荘官的な名目で実質的な土地支配権を留保する方法をとった。寄進地系荘園は10世紀ごろから急速に増加した。
