Born: 1895, Ukraine [Died] October 9, 1957, Copenhagen. American organic chemist. After receiving his doctorate from the University of Chicago in 1919, he became a professor there. He is known for his research on the theory of free radical reaction mechanisms and its application to organic reactions, especially the polymerization mechanism of synthetic rubber.
