A branch of the cervical plexus that controls the movement of the diaphragm. It arises from the 3rd to 5th cervical nerves, crosses in front of the anterior scalene muscle, passes between the subclavian artery and vein, enters the thoracic cavity, then descends between the mediastinal pleura and pericardium to reach the diaphragm. 頸神経叢の枝で,横隔膜の運動を支配する神経。第3~5頸神経から出て,前斜角筋の前を横切り,鎖骨下動・静脈の間を通って胸腔に入り,次いで縦隔胸膜と心膜の間を下って横隔膜に達する。わずかながら感覚線維および交感神経線維を含む。
