Kamegajo - Kamegajo

Japanese: 亀ヶ城 - かめがじょう
Kamegajo - Kamegajo

...It occupies the north shore of Lake Inawashiro, and is surrounded by Mt. Bandai to the east, Mt. Adatara to the west, and the Agatsuma mountain range to the north. Cultivated land is opened up on the alluvial plains of the downstream Nagase River, which collects water from Lake Hibara in Urabandai and other places and flows into Lake Inawashiro. Inawashiro, which is in the center of the area, developed as a castle town of Kamega Castle of the Inawashiro clan in the Middle Ages. In the early modern period, Kamega Castle became a subsidiary castle of Wakamatsu Castle, and was an important location as it was also a branch point of the road that led from Wakamatsu Castle to Nihonmatsu and Fukushima.
