Kamikoma

This area is in the northern part of Kizugawa City, in the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture. It is the central area of ​​the former Yamashiro Town. It is connected to the JR Nara Line, national highways 24 and 163, and was home to the Yamashiro Town Hall. In ancient times, it was home to the Koma clan, who came from Goguryeo. On the slightly elevated terrace on the north bank of the Kizu River are the ruins of Komadera Temple, a nationally designated historic site, where an earthen platform from the remains of a lecture hall has been excavated. To the east is the Prefectural Yamashiro Local History Museum.

京都府南部、木津川(きづがわ)市の北部にあたる地区。旧山城(やましろ)町の中心地区。JR奈良線、国道24号、163号が通じ、山城町役場があった。古代には高句麗(こうくり)渡来の狛氏の居住した所。木津(きづ)川北岸の段丘微高地には国指定史跡の高麗寺跡(こまでらあと)があり、講堂跡の土壇などが発掘されている。その東には府立山城郷土資料館がある。
