In the past, Ogawa Motoyu, located about 10km upstream from Tomari Station along the stream, was called Ogawa Onsen. This mountain hot springs resort, known as "Kodakara no Yu," was destroyed by flooding at the end of the Meiji period, and the hot springs were drawn from the source to form the present Ogawa Onsen. *Some of the terminology that refers to "Ogawa Motoyu" is listed below.
