French author. His father, a general, died when he was a child, and he grew up without a proper education. At the age of 20, he went to Paris and served the Duke of Orléans while devoting himself to reading. He achieved success with the play "Henry III and his Court" (1829), followed by "Antony" and "Kean, Madness and Genius". He eventually turned to historical novels in the style of W. Scott, and produced so many works that he had his assistants draft all of them except for "The Count of Monte Cristo". All of his works, including "The Three Musketeers", were skillfully structured and captured the hearts of the public, and his total works, including novels, plays, and travelogues, amount to more than 300. → Related articles Dumas [J] | Miyazaki Yuryu | Both Worlds Review Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
