... The name Kabutocho is said to have been derived from the Kabutozuka and Kabutoyama, which were located on the grounds of the Makino family residence here during the Edo period. The following story is passed down about the origin of Kabutozuka (now located within Kabuto Shrine): Around 1050 (Eisho 5), Minamoto no Yoshiie was on his way to Oshu with a large army for the Zenkunen no Eki (The Battle of Zenkunen), when he was hit by a storm in this area.
