Mycotoxin poisoning - mold poisoning

...A general term for toxins produced by mold (fungi), which cause various disorders in humans, livestock, fish, and other animals. In general, diseases caused by mold infections are called mycoses, and are distinguished from mycotoxicosis, which is a disease caused by mycotoxins, but it is difficult to strictly distinguish between the two. Food poisonings such as ergot poisoning have been known for a long time, and in Japan, research on mycotoxins in rice has been conducted since the end of the 19th century.
