Kano Minenobu

Year of birth: 1663
A painter of the early Edo period. He went by the pen name Kakuryusai. He was the second son of Tsunenobu Kano. In 1707, he was given the surname Matsumoto by Ienobu Tokugawa, and the following year he became an inner palace painter. He was the founder of the Hamamachi Kano family in Edo. One of his works is the "Seven Lucky Gods Scroll" (owned by Itabashi Art Museum). <References> Shiichi Tajima, ed., "The Great View of Oriental Art," Vol. 5
