This refers to the property of crops in which heading and flowering (the differentiation and development of the young panicles and flower buds that are the basis for these) are affected by temperature, and is generally accelerated at high temperatures and delayed at low temperatures. Along with photoperiod sensitivity, it is considered to be an important factor in determining whether a crop will mature early or late, but some of the effects of temperature are attributable to the general promotion of growth due to a simple rise in temperature, and compared to photoperiod sensitivity, the differences in specific reactions between varieties are generally small. 作物の出穂や開花(そのもとになる幼穂や花芽の分化・発育)が温度によって影響される性質をいい,一般に高温で促進され,低温で遅延する。感光性とともに作物の早生(わせ),晩生などの早晩性を決める重要な要因とされているが,温度の影響には,単なる温度の上昇による一般的な生育促進に帰される部分もあり,感光性に比べると品種による特異的な反応の違いは概して小さい。また,その本質も必ずしも明らかになっているとはいえない。
