Kani Tokichi - Kani Tokichi
1908-1944 A biologist from the early Showa period.
Born January 1, 1908. He ecologically studied the groups of organisms that live in the rapids and deep pools of rivers, and clarified the concept of "habitat separation." He died in battle on July 18, 1944, in the Mariana Islands area. He was 37 years old. He was from Okayama Prefecture. He graduated from Kyoto Imperial University. His publications include "The Ecology of Insects Living in Mountain Streams."
