According to the Hata Clan Hon Keicho, which is thought to record the genealogy of the Hata clan, the Hata clan as a whole built a water intake dam on the Kadono River, and called it Kadono Ozeki. As a result, the Hata clan succeeded in developing the river basin in the second half of the 5th century, and the dam became a monumental facility, and the river came to be called Ozekigawa.
