Koatsumori - Koatsumori

Japanese: 小敦盛 - こあつもり

A fairy tale from the Muromachi period. One of the Shibukawa versions. After her husband's death, Taira no Atsumori's wife, fearing Genji's relentless search for her, abandons her newborn son. The boy is picked up by the monk Honen and raised, but he falls seriously ill, missing his parents so much. When the monk tells his story to the audience during a sermon, Atsumori's wife comes forward in tears, and the mother and son are reunited, and the boy recovers from his illness. Hoping to see his father once more, the monk is told in a dream by the god Kamo no Myojin and travels to Ichinotani in Settsu Province, where he comes face to face with his father's ghost in a small shrine.

室町時代の御伽草子。渋川版の一つ。平敦盛の妻は，夫の死後源氏の執拗な探索を恐れ，生まれたばかりの若君を捨ててしまう。若君は法然上人に拾われて養育されるが，父母恋しさのあまり重い病にかかる。説法のおり，上人が聴聞の人々に向かってこのことを語ると，聴衆のなかから敦盛の妻が涙ながらに名のり出，母子は再会し，若君の病は回復する。父にひと目会いたいと願う若君は，賀茂の明神の夢告により摂津国一ノ谷に赴き，ある小さな御堂で父の亡霊と対面する。
