Born on July 2, 1872. After working as a professor at Tokyo Higher Technical School, he became a professor at the later Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1929. Known for inventing metal oxide magnets and developing a new method for manufacturing alumina. Awarded the Person of Cultural Merit in 1957. Died on August 13, 1967, aged 95. Born in Aichi Prefecture. Graduated from Kyoto Imperial University. Written works include "Outline of Electrochemistry" and "Industrial Chemistry."
