...An anti-Spanish rebellion that lasted for 85 years from 1744 to 1829 on the island of Bohol in the south-central Philippines under Spanish colonial rule. The leader was Francisco Dagohoy (?-late 18th century?), a resident of the town of Inabaga on the island of Bohol. In 1744, Dagohoy's younger brother, who served as a policeman in the town of Inabaga, was ordered by the parish priest to arrest a heretic, but was killed after a duel.
