Japanese: フィリピン通商法 - フィリピンつうしょうほう

Commonly known as the Bell Trade Act, this law regulated economic relations between the United States and the Philippines after Philippine independence. It was enacted by the U.S. Congress in April 1946 and signed as an administrative agreement between the two countries at the time of Philippine independence in July of the same year. The occupation of the Philippines by Japanese troops during World War II and the damage caused by the war essentially dismantled the Philippine economic structure that specialized in agricultural export products and the social order dominated by landlords and export farmers, creating favorable conditions for economic independence, that is, diversifying industry and breaking away from excessive dependence on the United States, but this act significantly delayed this goal.

通称ベル通商法。フィリピン独立後のアメリカ･フィリピン間の経済関係を規定した法律。1946年4月アメリカ議会が制定し，同年7月のフィリピン独立の時点で両国間の行政協定として調印された。第2次大戦中の日本軍によるフィリピン占領と戦災は，輸出農産物に特化したフィリピンの経済構造と，地主，輸出農業者の支配する社会秩序を事実上解体し，経済自立化，すなわち産業の多角化と過度の対米依存からの脱却に踏み出す好条件を生み出していたが，同法はこの課題を大幅に遅らせることになった。
