A hot spring located in the Agatsuma Valley in the middle reaches of the Agatsuma River in Naganohara Town, Agatsuma County, Gunma Prefecture. Sulfur-containing gypsum spring. 33-72°C. Legend has it that Minamoto no Yoritomo bathed here in the 12th century, and since the mid-Edo period, it has been bustling with visitors on their way back from Kusatsu Onsen. There are eight bathhouses, and bathers pay a fee. The Yukake Festival is held on January 20th. Get off at Kawarayu Onsen Station on the Agatsuma Line. There are plans to relocate the hot spring due to the construction of the Yamba Dam.

群馬県吾妻(あがつま)郡長野原町，吾妻川中流の吾妻渓谷に沿う温泉。含硫黄石膏泉。33〜72℃。12世紀に源頼朝が入湯したという伝説があり，江戸中期以降草津温泉帰りの保養客でにぎわった。湯屋は８軒で，湯銭を納めていた。１月20日に湯かけ祭が行われる。吾妻線川原湯温泉駅下車。八ッ場ダム建設のため，移転計画がある。
