Cadiz Constitution

...the Enlightenment of the 18th century, liberalism, romanticism, and utopian socialism of the 19th century. During Napoleon's invasion of Spain and the War of Independence (1808-14), a National Assembly was convened in the unoccupied city of Cádiz, and the liberal Constitution of 1812 was drawn up. After Ferdinand VII restored the absolute monarchy in 1814, Cádiz became the center of the revolution.
