〘 noun 〙 A type of pneumoconiosis. A chronic lung disease caused by inhaling dust containing high concentrations of silicic acid for a long period of time. An occupational disease common to miners, stonemasons, and ceramists. Patients experience shortness of breath, a tan complexion, swelling, and loss of appetite. Susceptible to complications such as tuberculosis. Silicosis. Silicosis. 〘名〙 塵肺症の一つ。珪酸を高濃度に含む粉塵を長期間吸入することによって起こる慢性の肺疾患。採鉱夫、石工、陶磁器工などに起こりやすい職業病。息切れがし、顔色が土色になり、むくみが出て、食欲がなくなる。結核などを併発しやすい。珪肺症。珪肺病。
