Year of birth: Unknown. An Italian architect living in Japan who was active in the early Meiji period, known for designing the Yushukan (1881) and the General Staff Office (1882). In 1876 (Meiji 9), he came to Japan as a preparatory teacher (in charge of drawing) at the Ministry of Public Works' Art School, and later moved to the Ministry's Construction Bureau and the Ministry of the Army. In 1885, he left Japan and traveled to the United States, where he died.

明治初期に活躍した在日イタリア人建築家で,遊就館(1881)と参謀本部(1882)の設計者として知られる。明治9(1876)年,工部省工部美術学校予科教師(図学担当)として来日し,その後同省営繕局,陸軍省に転じた。明治18年に離日,渡米し同地で没。
