Blastomere

Blastomere
A cell that is produced by cleavage from a fertilized egg. It mainly refers to cells from the 2-cell stage to the blastula stage. Because the blastomeres do not grow, as cleavage progresses they approach the size of a normal cell. However, differentiation has not yet progressed in either morphology or embryonic substance, and there are no significant changes. Depending on the cleavage pattern and the position of the blastomere, there are regular differences in size, granules contained, pigments, and other substances, and some play an important role in embryo differentiation. On the other hand, it has been shown that the nucleus of a blastomere is exactly equivalent to the nucleus of a fertilized egg.
