Kawatana [Hot Spring] - Kawatana
A hot spring in Toyoura-cho, Toyoura-gun, Yamaguchi Prefecture (now Shimonoseki City). Radioactive spring, 38-43°C. It is said to have been discovered in the 12th century, and in the Edo period, there were nine bathhouses. It is suitable for relaxation, and many bathers come from Kitakyushu. Nearby are the Camphor Forest (a natural monument) and the Ogoya Bat Cave (a natural monument). It is close to Kawatana Onsen Station on the San'in Main Line.
