〘 noun 〙 The wearing of a half-hakama (kimono) over a kataginu③. In the Edo period, the kataginu and hakama were the official uniform of the samurai government officials, and were made of the same fabric and color. Kamishimo (kimono with small hakama) . ※Hagakure (around 1716) 10 "The current kataginu and hakama are said to have first been worn by Toyotomi Hideyoshi."
