A group of small islands about 200 km east of Ca Mau Cape, the southern tip of Vietnam. It has long been known as Phu Lo Con Dor, and consists of 12 small islands, centered around the main island, Con Son. In Chinese, it is called Kunlun Island. A small number of farmers and fishermen live there. From 1787 to 1945, it was a French colony and was used as a penal colony. It covers an area of about 100 km2 .
