A castle in Puglia, Italy. It was built in the first half of the 13th century by Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II. It has a regular octagonal plan, with small octagonal turrets at each corner. The gable shape and pilasters at the main entrance reflect Frederick II's taste for antiquity. It was registered as a World Heritage Site in 1996.
