Madison County is the county seat of Madison County in northern Alabama, USA. Population 158,216 (2000). It is one of the centers of space research in the United States, and is home to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, which develops rockets and space shuttles, and the Alabama Space and Rocket Center, an Army research center for guided missile rockets. The city's economy is centered on the space industry, but it also produces tires, glass, and electrical appliances. It was incorporated as a town in 1811, and became a city in 1844.

アメリカ合衆国、アラバマ州北部、マディソン郡の郡都。人口15万8216（2000）。合衆国の宇宙研究の中心地の一つで、ロケットやスペースシャトルの開発などを行っているNASA(ナサ)（アメリカ航空宇宙局）のマーシャル宇宙飛行センターや、陸軍の誘導ミサイルロケットの研究センター、アラバマ宇宙ロケットセンターがある。市の経済はこれらの宇宙産業を中心としているが、このほかにタイヤ、ガラス、電気器具も生産する。1811年に町となり、44年には市となった。
