Roan - Kasuge

...Population: 5,024 (1995). The northern part of the town is part of the Shirakami Mountains, which straddle Aomori Prefecture. The Fujikoto River and Kasuge River originate here and merge at the central settlement of Fujikoto before flowing into the Yoneshiro River. In the early modern period, the town was part of the Akita Domain, and the Kasuge area was a key location on the byway to Tsugaru.
