...there were two series: the chamber sonata, based on the dance suite form, and the church sonata, which had a more polyphonic color and a more profound mood (Corelli). The concerto, which could be said to be the epitome of Baroque musical expression, was based on the church concerto, which dynamically combined voice and instruments (Lodovico da Viadana (1564-1627), G. Gabrieli), and then passed through the concerto grosso, which dynamically contrasted the solo instruments with the orchestra (Corelli), and in the early 18th century established the modern form of the solo concerto, consisting of three movements: fast, slow, fast (Vivaldi). On the other hand, the orchestral suite, which, along with the concerto, is a pillar of Baroque orchestral music, started out as an instrumental excerpt from French court opera and ballet (Lully), but in the late Baroque period it came to be composed as a unique musical form (Telemann, JS Bach).
