Kamekichi Kashimura

...However, after the Meiji Restoration, when land was divided into public and private ownership, this forest became private land and was placed in the personal name of the land steward. This was intended to be a representative of the residents, but in 1897, this person sold it without permission, and in 1907 it was returned to the ownership of Kashimura Kamekichi. For a while, there was no change in the use of the forest as a public interest group, but in 1915, there was a major fire, and when the residents began to cut timber to build houses, they were stopped by Kashimura.
