…A mystical diagram that was a symbol of good fortune and fate in ancient China. It is also called a “book”, but they were originally separate things, with the “He Tu” written on the back of a dragon horse emerging from the Yellow River, and the “Luo Shu” written on the back of a divine turtle emerging from the Luo River. It was long believed (by Liu Xin of the Han dynasty) that the Eight Trigrams in the “Book of Changes” were created from the “He Tu”, and that the Hong Fan in the “Book of Documents” was based on the “Luo Shu”. …
