Generally, the carpenter who takes the lead role is called a master carpenter. In addition, the leaders of the craftsmen involved in construction were called master carpenters for each profession, such as blacksmiths and plasterers, and were called master carpenters, blacksmith master carpenters, plasterer master carpenters, etc. It was only from the 15th century onwards that master carpenters could be identified from things like building plasters.
