Kashiorigen

…Shibukawa Shunkai, the son of the first Santetsu and the Oshirogo (castle go) master until 1683 (Tenwa 3), was famous as a calendar scholar. The Hayashi family originated with Hayashi Mon'yūsai (1583-1667), who studied under the high-ranking Kashiorigen during the time of Honinbo Sansha, and successive generations of the family were called Mon'yū. The 11th Genbi Mon'yū (1778-1861) rose to the rank of semi-master, but was known more for his knowledge of Chinese classics than his talent for go, and left behind many works, including Gokyō Shūmyō (1811) and Rankado Kiwa (1849). …

…また1世算哲の子で1683年(天和3)まで御城碁（おしろご）を務めた渋川春海は暦学者として有名。林家は本因坊算砂時代の高手鹿塩利賢（かしおりげん）に学んだ林門入斎（もんにゆうさい）(1583‐1667)に発し，代々門入を名のった。11世元美門入(1778‐1861)は準名人に昇ったが，碁才よりも漢学の素養で知られ，《碁経衆妙》(1811)，《爛柯堂棋話（らんかどうきわ）》(1849)など数多くの著作を残している。…
