〘名〙① 風の吹いている音。風が物に吹き当たる音。かぜおと。※俳諧・西鶴大矢数（1681）第二二「寝所を早くもあげる枕の秋〈西瓜〉風音つれて旅籠屋の露〈西巾〉」② 歌舞伎の下座音楽の一つ。大太鼓を長撥(ながばち)で打って、すきまをもれてくる風の音や、風が起こってくる様子などを表現するもの。※落語・素人茶番（1896）〈四代目橘家円喬〉「扨(さ)てカチと云ふ頭木(かしらぎ)が這入(はい)りまして、風音(カザオト)で幕が明きますると」
