Vitamin A helps keep the mucous membrane of the eye healthy and boosts immunity, strengthening resistance to infection. There are two types of vitamin A: retinol, which is found in large amounts in animal foods, and carotene, which is found in large amounts in green and yellow vegetables and is converted into vitamin A once it enters the body. Retinol is found in high amounts in liver, eel, and chicken, while carotene is found in high amounts in komatsuna, pumpkin, and carrots. ○As a traditional Chinese medicine, Japanese pepper has an anti-inflammatory effect and is said to be effective against styes. Dry well-ripened Japanese pepper berries for about a week, pour boiling water over about 20 of them at a time, and drink them. It is also effective to chop up raw Houttuynia cordata leaves, knead them to soften them, apply a thick layer of the mixture to gauze, and then apply it to the affected area with a bandage. When there is a large suppurating rash , plantain leaves can be used to suck out the pus. Roast it over a fire, rub it lightly, and then apply it to your eyelids while it is still hot and go to sleep. The next morning, the pus will have come out. 《どんな病気か?》正式には麦粒腫(ばくりゅうしゅ)といい、まぶたにある皮脂腺(ひしせん)(脂(あぶら)を分泌(ぶんぴつ)するところ)に細菌が感染して化膿(かのう)した状態のことです。上下どちらのまぶたにも起こります。 《関連する食品》〈レバー、ウナギ、緑黄色野菜などが予防効果あり〉 ○栄養成分としての働きから ものもらいの予防には、ビタミンAをとることがたいせつです。ビタミンAには目の粘膜(ねんまく)を正常に保つ働きと、免疫力を高めて感染に対する抵抗力を強める働きがあります。 ビタミンAには、動物性食品に多く含まれているレチノールと、緑黄色野菜に多く含まれ、体内に入ってビタミンAにかわるカロテンとがあります。 レチノールはレバー、ウナギ、鶏肉などに、カロテンはコマツナ、カボチャ、ニンジンなどに多く含まれています。 ○漢方的な働きから サンショウには消炎効果があり、ものもらいに効くといわれています。よく熟したサンショウの実を1週間ほど干し、1回に20粒ほど熱湯を注いで飲みます。また、ドクダミの生の葉をきざんでもみ、やわらかくしたものをガーゼに厚く塗り、患部にバンソウコウで貼(は)っても効果的です。 化膿して大きく腫(は)れているときは、オオバコの葉を吸い出しに使います。火であぶり、軽くもんで熱いうちにまぶたに貼りつけて寝れば、翌朝、膿(うみ)がでていることでしょう。 治ったあとは、ゴマ油を2~3滴たらしておくと、再発の予防になります。 出典 小学館食の医学館について 情報 |
