Hemitragus

...General term for mammals of the genus Hemitragus in the order Bovidae, which resemble goats but are closely related to antelopes. Three species are found in the region: the Arabian Thar (H. jayakari) on the eastern edge of the Arabian Peninsula, the Nilgiri Thar (H. hylocrius) in the southern part of the Indian peninsula, and the Himalayan Thar (H. jemlahicus ) from Kashmir to Sikkim (introduced species have become wild in New Zealand).
