Revolutionary Socialist Labor Party

…When the party split in 1981, it rebelled against the Marxists, mainly intellectuals, and joined the French Socialist Workers' Federation, which included many veteran union activists. In 1990, the faction split into a group of parliamentarians such as P. Bruce, who placed emphasis on parliamentary activities, and a group of activists who emphasized labor union activities, and the latter group formed the Revolutionary Socialist Workers' Party, which was called the Armane faction after its actual founder. This faction was based mainly in Paris and attracted the support of skilled workers in the machinery, metalworking, and construction sectors. At its peak in the early 1990s, it had seven members of the National Assembly, and was also at the center of the formation of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) in 1995, playing a role as the source of syndicalism. However, its neglect of parliamentary activities and emphasis on union activities led to the defection of influential activists such as parliamentarians and the division of the organization, and it rapidly declined in the late 1990s. …
