Nuclear gene

Japanese:
Nuclear gene

[Mode of inheritance]
In normal organisms, i.e. eukaryotes, genes exist in both the nucleus and the cytoplasm. Genes that exist in the nucleus are called nuclear genes or simply genes, while genes in the cytoplasm are called cytoplasmic genes or plasma genes. Nuclear genes and the traits they control are generally inherited bilaterally and are passed on to offspring according to Mendel's laws.

From [Genes]

...The "genetic meaning" here is primarily functional, determining the structure of RNA or polypeptides, and forming the binding and release sites for various molecules involved in the expression and regulation of genetic information, but it also includes a historical meaning that suggests their origin, as in the case of pseudogenes.
[Gene classification]
Depending on where they are located within the cell, genes are classified as nuclear genes, chromosomal genes, extrachromosomal genes, cytoplasmic genes, chloroplast genes, mitochondrial genes, etc. Nuclear genes and chromosomal genes, and extrachromosomal genes and cytoplasmic genes are synonymous. …
