Sadyattēs (English spelling)

...In the early 7th century BC, Gyges (reigned 685-657 BC) of the Mermnads (Mermunadai) usurped the throne from Kandaulēs of the Heraclidae (Heracleidae) and established a stable kingdom by forming an alliance with the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal to break away from Cimmerian rule. After that, through the reigns of Ardys and Sadyattēs, the kingdom reached its most prosperous period under Alyattēs, who subordinated the Greek colonies. The next king, Croesus (reigned 560-546 BC), focused on trade and made the kingdom even wealthier, but he was defeated in a battle with the emerging Persian king Cyrus II and the capital, Sardis, fell.
