Acquired immunity

The opposite of natural immunity. A state in which the body's immune function is altered after birth by foreign antigenic stimulation. In a narrow sense, it refers to a state in which a body that has once contracted an infectious disease acquires resistance to that infection, or a state in which a body acquires similar resistance through immunotherapy. →Immunity Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
