Price Leader

...When there is an oligopolistic market structure, and among a group of mutually substitutable products, the power to determine the prices of products is in the hands of a specific company, and other companies follow suit, price formation is said to be based on price leadership. In this case, the company that takes the lead is called the price leader, and the companies that follow it are called price followers. This type of price formation is often observed when the market structure has the following characteristics.
