Open ceiling - Open ceiling

A tall interior space that extends to the height of two or more floors in a multi-storey building. It is often used when the upper floors are open and connected to the other parts, rather than being a single complete room like a staircase or hall, but it can also be a closed room like a theater auditorium.

複数の階をもつ建物で二階以上の高さにわたる背の高い内部空間。階段やホールのように完結した一つの室ではなくて、上階が他の部分に連続した開放的な空間をつくるときに多く用いられるが、劇場の観客席のように閉じた部屋の場合もある。
