Joruri. Historical piece. Five acts. Collaboration between Namiki Sosuke and Namiki Josuke. First performed at the Toyotakeza Theater in Osaka in 1735 ( 20th year of the Kyoho era ). Based on the legend of Karigane, it was created with influences from sekkyobushi, joruri, kabuki, and other forms of theatre. The feudal lord of Chikuzen, Kato Shigeuji, is inspired and enters Mount Koya, taking the name Karigane. It is an adaptation of the tragic story of Odai and Ishidomaru, who travel to Mount Koya to visit their father. The third act, Tamatori (Imorizake) , is famous. 浄瑠璃。時代物。五段。並木宗輔、並木丈助合作。享保二〇年(一七三五)大坂豊竹座初演。苅萱伝説に題材をとり、説経節、浄瑠璃、歌舞伎などの影響を受けて成立。筑前の大名加藤繁氏が発心して高野山に入り苅萱と名のる。御台と石童丸が父を訪ねて高野へ向かう悲劇を脚色。三段目の玉取り(守宮酒(いもりざけ))が有名。
